“Cut Above” Casting is a very aggressive EXTRAS booking service looking for non-union, as well as union, clients that are "bookable" and ready to work. A booking service is the liaison between the casting director and the talent. Although we work very hard for our clients, submitting you on productions, a booking service can not guarantee work. We work very closely with 25 different casting directors, including Central Casting, assisting them in film, television, commercial print/ background and audience work. We try and take the "leg work" out of it for you, by giving you the opportunity to submit on many productions.

We also offer networking parties, open call auditions, industry tools and referrals, all designed to help you advance your career.

Basically, there are three ways to get booked on a production.

1. Listen to the hotline or view online, pick the productions that you are qualified and available for, and then we’ll submit your appropriate photo to the casting director.
2. Keep yourself active on our availability list that goes out daily to all our casting directors.
3. Be available for our phone call, as rush calls can come in at anytime.

After you are booked you will receive an e-mail with all of your details regarding that production.

You do not have to audition to do extra work, the photo submission is in essence the audition to the casting director.

The four main things that we ask of you are:

• Show up on time
• Have a positive attitude
• Follow some really easy directions
• Show up on time

Non-union scale for extra work is as follows (this is THE scale, not OUR scale):

• 1-8 hours = $64
• 8-10 (1.5x) = $11.50 per hour, so $82.50 for 10 hours
• After 10 it is double time: $15 Dollars an hour $112.50/12hrs.

** Of course there are "bumps" and "upgrades", but they are only possible if you are on the set. In addition, we often work on non-union productions that pay a much higher rate. So you really never know, you just need to be on set~

Films are averaging about 10-13 hours a day, but each production is in charge of when to let you go. THEY WILL NOT LET YOU LEAVE EARLY! Although, every once in awhile the do "wrap" early-
